Routine roof inspections are incredibly important to ensure your roof is doing its job and able to last its full lifespan. However, many property owners tend to overlook roof inspections and may have misconceptions about how often they are necessary and when to schedule them. We would like to offer some clarification by explaining when to get a roof inspection.

- At least once a year – An annual roof inspection for your home or commercial building helps to discover damage early and prevent more costly repairs. Annual roof inspections are also frequent enough that it’s easier to remember to schedule them and keep track of when the last one was. It may also be required for warranties or insurance.
- After extreme weather – A major storm or extreme weather like strong winds and hail can cause significant damage to your roof, so it’s wise to schedule a roof inspection following these events to make sure there are no leaks or other issues.
- In the fall or spring – Scheduling a roof inspection in the fall or spring is not a requirement so much as a suggestion. We also don’t mean that you should have your roof inspected every fall or spring; what we mean is that it is ideal to have roof inspections done during mild weather when it is easier to identify damage and address it before harsher weather arrives.
